Geological Survey of India Training Institute

Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) conducts a Post-PG Diploma Course in Geoinformatics in Earth Science in affiliation with Osmania University, Hyderabad which is a UGC recognized and NAAC accredited university, known for its excellence in the academics. The University is a multifaculty and multidisciplinary university which has established “University – Industry Hub” for an effective interface between the academia and the industry. GSITI envisions to fill the gap between academic knowledge and field practices with the goal to provide the students a critical understanding of the acquisition, processing, transformation, analysis, storage, presentation, and use of geoinformatics in the domain of earth science. The Post-PG Diploma Course aims to develop skills of the students to design and undertake research and development projects in various fields of geoinformatics independently.

Eligibility & Costs
The total number of seats for the course is 20. The candidate should have a minimum of Master’s degree in geological sciences or geology or applied geology or geo-exploration or mineral exploration or engineering geology or marine geology or earth science & resource management or oceanography and coastal area studies or petroleum geology from any recognized university in the country. The total duration of the course is two semesters, i.e., one academic year with a course fee of Rs. 10,000/- per semester. Accommodation will be available on twin sharing basis at a cost of Rs. 25/- per head per day. Efforts will be made to arrange for sponsorship for deserving candidates.

LPCET (Language Pandit Common Entrance Test) - 2012

Online applications are invited from candidates who intend to take admission into one year Langauge Pandit Training Course (LPT) in Government IASEs/CTEs and Private Language Pandit Training Colleges in the state to be conducted by Department of School Education.
Fee and submission of Application Online:
The fee prescribed for appearing for LPCET (including examination fee) is Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only). Candidates can pay the fee through APONLINE or e-Seva centers between 25.04.2012 and 09.05.2012 and submit online application at the LPCET website http://lpcet.cgg.gov.in between 26.04.2012 and 10.05.2012.
Procedure for submission of application online:
Detailed procedure for applying ONLINE is given in the Information Bulletin. Candidates can download the ‘Information Bulletin’ free of cost from the LPCET website: http://lpcet.cgg.gov.in from 19.04.2012 onwards. Candidates can submit their applications online from 26.04.2012 to 10.05.2012.
Educational Qualifications: The candidates who have passed the minimum qualifying examinations mentioned below are eligible to apply.
  1. Telugu Pandit: BA (Telugu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language – Telugu) or Bachelor of Oriental Language Telugu or A Graduate degree with optional subject Telugu or MA(Telugu).
  2. Hindi Pandit: A graduate degree with optional subject Hindi or Bachelor of Oriental Language Hindi or Praveen of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha or Vidwan of Hindi Prachara Sabha, Hyderabad or any other equivalent recognized qualification in Hindi (BA Standard) by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or MA(Hindi).
  3. Urdu Pandit: BA (Urdu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language Urdu) or Bachelor of Oriental Language Urdu or A Graduate Degree with optional subject Urdu of M.A (Urdu).

Application Fee : Rs.60/- (for posts 1-7) Rs.40/- (for posts 8-9)  for the General and OBC candidates only in the form of IPO / DD in favour of Assistant Secretary/Secretary/ Member Secretary/ Chairman of  concerned RRB where candidate wants to apply. No examination fees for SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Physically Handicapped / Women / Minorities / Economically backward classes candidates having annual family income less than Rs. 50000/-.

How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format should be send to the Assistant Secretary/ Member Secretary of the concerned RRB where candidate want to apply on or before 21/05/2012 (05/06/2012 for the candidates from far-flung areas). Candidates can also apply online at respective RRB websites. Selection Procedure :Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for Common Written Examination (C.W.E) conducted by IBPS (i.e subject wise Objective Test), have the minimum IBPS TWS score specified above and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit shall be called for a Personal interview in the ratio of 1:3. The candidates should have valid score card issued by IBPS. Mere pass in the Common Written Examination shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Personal Interview.Merit list of the candidates based on the aggregate marks obtained by them in Common Written Test and in Personal Interview will be prepared in descending order, under the respective SC / ST / OBC / GEN Category State-wise. The final selection will be made on the basis of this merit list. 
Note: In case of similar marks to two or more candidates the merit order of such group of candidates will be as per their aggregate written test marks and further as per their date of birth (i.e. more senior in age will be placed first before less senior in age). Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories filling in “unreserved” vacancies will not be entitled for relaxation available to them in their respective category.
