Airline Allied Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited, is looking for smart, young and energetic “Unmarried” (Female and Male) Indian Nationals with pleasing countenance and an attitude to serve, for its requirement of Trainee Cabin Crew in near future in Northern Region (Delhi), Southern Region (Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore & Calicut), Western Region (Mumbai) on a fixed term engagement, for a initial period of three years and to maintain a wait list. For candidates applying for Southern Region their place of posting will be decided by AASL. Reservations & relaxations for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per Government Guidelines. Candidates have to apply for only one Region. Application of candidates selected will be considered only for the Region they have applied for. They may be posted at base/station of the Region as per requirement of the Company. Any application received for more than one Region shall not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS ON 1st JANUARY, 2011
a) AGE: Between 21 and 24 years (Relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC categories)
b) MARITAL STATUS: Unmarried
c) MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Graduate from a recognised University,
OR
10+2 and three years’ Degree/ Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from a
Government recognised Institute.
Preference will be given to experience in related areas i.e. Airport Handling / Customer
Services / Cabin Crew in an Airline / Front Office / Guest Relations / Restaurant Hostess /
Stewards in 3-5 Star Hotel.
d) PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
1. Vision: Near Vision: N/5 in better eye and N/6 in worst eye. Distant vision: 6/6 in one eye & 6/9 in another eye Spectacles/corrective surgery not allowed. Contact lenses up to ± 2D permitted
2. Colour Vision: Normal on Ishihara Chart.
3. Height & Weight:
Female - Minimum 160 cms (5’ 3”) with proportionate weight
Male - Minimum 172 cms (5’ 8”) with proportionate weight
{Relaxation of 5 cms (2”) for SC/ST candidates & those from North East states

4. COSMETIC APPEARANCE:
Candidates should be well groomed with clear complexion, without any noticeable blemish; no odd scars/birth mark or bad case of acne, no uneven and irregular teeth, etc.
5. SPEECH:
Clear speech, no stammering, lisping. Fluent in English language, with clear diction, accent, pronunciation and voice modulation.
e) LANGUAGE: Fluency in English and one or more Indian Languages. Should also have working knowledge of Hindi. A candidate shall be deemed to have acquired working knowledge of Hindi, if he/she has passed Matriculation or an equivalent or higher examination with Hindi as one of the subjects; OR Pragya, the examination conducted under Hindi Teaching Scheme of the Central Government or when so specified by that Government in respect of any particular category of post, any lower examination under that scheme; OR Any other examination specified on that behalf by the Central Government; OR he/she declares himself/herself to have acquired such knowledge.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for Group Discussion which is likely to be held in the month of February, 2011. Details of commencement of Group Discussion will also be available on Website www.airindia.in. Candidates who qualify the GD will appear for personal interview subject to meeting the Medical Standards for height, weight & vision to be carried out by the Company Doctor. The interview will follow the GD and therefore, the candidate may have to stay back for few days at their own expenses for the interview. They will also be required to bring all original documents & six copies of recent passport size photograph at the time of interview. Candidates will require to appear for GD and interview at any one of the four locations i.e. Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata or Mumbai.
HOW TO APPLY
Interested candidates may send their duly signed applications through ORDINARY POST ONLY in prescribed application format as available on the website www.airindia.in, alongwith a recent passport size photograph duly pasted, documents in support of date of birth, qualification as well as Caste and domicile proof (wherever applicable), and a Demand Draft of 500/- (Rs. Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of AASL, New Delhi, (not applicable for SC/ST/Ex-serviceman candidates), so as to reach the Post Bag No. 99, GPO Kolkata, Kolkata-700 001 on or before 28th January 2011.
Applications received late/incomplete will not be considered. AASL will not be responsible for any postal delay / loss of any documents during transit. Candidates will be allowed to appear for selection process only at the location opted for . If at any stage, it is found that the candidate has managed to appear for the selection process at more than one place, his/her candidature will be cancelled. The envelope should be superscribed,

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
i) Selected candidates will be imparted training at Cabin Crew Training School, Air India Ltd., Hyderabad or at any other place decided by the Company. During the training period the selected candidates will be paid stipend of 7,500/- per month. They may be provided accommodation at CTE, Hyderabad on twin sharing basis subject to availability for which the cost will be borne by the candidate. Such of the candidates that do not get accommodated at CTE, for any reason whatsoever, will have to make their own arrangements for stay and reporting to CTE, Hyderabad. Upon successful completion of training, they shall be designated as Cabin Crew. They will be required to obtain necessary DGCA approval on Alliance Air or any other fleet of Air India Ltd. as decided by the Management from time to time. Their services may be utilised in AASL or any other subsidiary company or Air India Ltd. at any Station/Region.
ii) Period of Fixed Term Engagement: Candidates will be appointed on a Fixed Term engagement initially for a period of three years, which could be terminated at the discretion of the Management during the tenure of fixed term engagement, and/or in the event of being unsuccessful in the training/unsatisfactory performance or any other misconduct which leads to indiscipline or as per Company’s requirement. After completion of three years, the fixed term engagement may be renewed subject to performance of the candidate and the
Company’s requirement. During the course or after completion or during extended term of fixed term engagement, the candidate will not claim for permanent absorption in AASL or its parent Company.
iii) Emoluments: After successful completion of training the fixed emoluments payable to selected candidates will be 17,600/- (Rupees Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred only) approximately per month for flying up to 50 hours in a month. In case of flying more than 50 hours in a month, payment for additional flying hours will be made at an enhanced rate. In addition, the post carries benefits such as Provident Fund, free/concessional air passages and other benefits etc as per policies of AASL.
iv) During the course or after completion or during extended term of fixed term engagement, the candidate will not claim for any parity with regard to salary/allowances/status/ facilities/seniority/ benefits as admissible to other Cabin Crew already working on fixed term engagement in AASL or on permanent basis in its parent Company.
