Postal/Sorting Assistant selection procedure
It’s that time of the year that Postal Assistant and sorting assistant jobs are back. You can check out the Knack post 2010 Postal Assistant notification. Knack Post is the notification for Postal jobs in Andhra Pradesh, similarly other states too issued notifications for postal and sorting assistants. Although the notifications are issued separately by each state, the selection process is the same and so is the written test Syllabus and pattern.
The official weightage for selection is as follows:
40% for marks in 10+2 or its equivalent
50% for marks in written/ aptitude test and
10% for computer test.
Based on the applications received and sorting the applications in descending order as per 10+2 marks, 10 times the number of vacancies in each community will be shortlisted and called for the written/ aptitude test.
Those who are called for the aptitude test should pay another fee of Rs.100 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/OBC/Ex Servicemen/PC candidates) in any post office and the receipt of which has to be produced during the time of the test.
Duration will be for 1 hour (60 minutes).
One question from each section for 5 marks each for a total duration of 30 minutes.
Please note that the marks for these two questions will either be 0 or 5 depending on the minimum standard of your answer.
Final selection example: Let’s say, you have scored 80% in your 10+2, 80 marks in Written test/ Aptitude test and 5 marks in Computer test.
Your total marks will be 40 % of 80 %, that is 32 % (or 32 marks), plus 50 % of 80 marks, that is 40 marks, plus 10 % of 5 marks, that is 0.5 marks which adds up to 72.5 marks.
If this total score of 72.5 out of maximum possible of 100 marks ranks sufficiently high with in your community, you will be selected for the appropriate post.
